THE SAILOR'S PRAYER

Lord, the greatest rescuer of all
times, give us your perfect guidance that
we may reach our destination safe and
sound.

Give us a good captain who can
lead his men and ship along a route way
from sheering storm and mountain-like
waves.

And as we keep on sailing day and
night, give our captain watchful eyes, a
sensitive hearing and steady hands that we
may always be on courses.

Open my eyes to the nobility of our
calling and make me a worthy sailor by
abiding the law of the sea so that no lustful
attempt can be made to my captain and my
ship.

If at night our ship puts out to sea
and our directional finder fails to function,
give us a fulgent star to follow the safest
lane, so that in our trust we can land
unscathed.

And if in the midst of our silent
voyage a hostile adversary should try to
engage us in battle, O Lord give us courage
and skill to subdue them, for victory is
achieve only through Your blessings.

And if victor is already written on
the deck of our ship, our supplication to
You, Dear Lord, will never cease.
